NYMAR held it’s annual meeting at South Street Seaport Museum on May 29th.
The slate of new directors was added including Milind Trilokekar, from Tri World Shipping an established New York based shipowner, Chritian Rodrguez , the current President of Young Shipping Professionals and Christian Gianopoulos the head of business development at Brooklyn based American Ship Repair. The board continues to encompass a widespread of professional activities from its members and is a reflection of the diverse NYMAR membership.
Peter Shaerf, Chairman of NYMAR acknowledged the work of John Stratakis, Kevin O’Hara and Vice Chairman Molly Mcafferty in their diligent work on the nominating committee.
Mr Shaerf also highlighted some of the new initiatives of NYMAR as it seeks to maintain it’s role as a leading booster for the NY maritime community. Foremost of these initiatives is a new mentoring programme which is being established in conjunction with the Young Shipping Professionals and more details will be unveiled in the near future.
Additionally highlighted was the work with the South Street Seaport Museum and New York’s rich the continuing efforts to highlight New York’s rich maritime history.
